Find a location that is special to both of you and one that will provide a unique experience for your guests.

A civil marriage ceremony can be performed anywhere at anytime you choose.
Queensland’s climate is ideal for outdoor ceremonies and our beautiful parks, beaches and private gardens offer locations to suit any style of civil ceremony.
You will need to obtain written permission from the local council to marry in a public park or on a beach.
It is a good idea to visit the ceremony site on the same day of the week at approximately the same time you intend to hold the ceremony to consider the following:
- Is there adequate parking?
- Easy access for older guests.
- Does this location have a level area (difficult to stand for any length of time on a slope or steep incline)
- Will there be traffic or other noise that will affect your guest hearing the ceremony.
- Will your ceremony have privacy.
- Can seating be provided for your guests and a table for the signing of the register.
- Are toilets within walking distance (check their condition).
- Check tidal times and visit the beach at that time to see how it will affect your ceremony and photographs.
- Consider the weather……. if it is raining or windy. Will the sun or sand cause problems for you.
- Does this location offer you protection from the elements and do you have alternative plans in case of rain.
